Who are we?
Moray Firth Watersports Association was set up to provide a space for Moray's community of watersports enthusiasts to store kit, run training sessions and meet with club members. We are based at Lossie West beach and currently have 4 different watersports clubs affiliated using the building regularly throughout the week.
Why are we crowdfunding?
The clubhouse has a number of items requiring maintenance. The external cladding, security fence and new fire doors are some of the bigger projects. All of which are vital for the safety and security of the users, the equipment and the building.
How we’ll spend the money raised
This money will go directly towards buying and installing 2 new external fire doors, which we plan to complete asap. The rest of the money will go into a fund alongside any other fundraising, until we have enough to fix the cladding and anything left will then be put towards the security fence.
Community impact
This building is used throughout the week by affiliated clubs and individuals. In the spring and summer, it is utilised even more regularly by clubs, but also by families and friends coming together to spend time by beach, use the changing facilities and club equipment and making use of the barbecuing or catering facilities.
How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
