Using high-quality live music from our concert series as a creative stimulus, CLS brings creative music-making to groups across London

We're still collecting donations

On the 28th March 2023 we'd raised £7,356 with 18 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Your donation will help us to work with more than 2,000 people across nine creative music-making projects in 2023, bringing music to hospitals and hospital schools, family centres, hospices, community venues, and care homes.

MUSIC IS VITAL FOR WELLBEING

Music can stimulate our body's natural feel-good chemicals. It can help energise us, or allow us to escape our worries, work through problems, process our feelings, and connect with ourselves and others.

CLS's 'Wellbeing Through Music' programme runs alongside our concert series, using repertoire from the concerts as a creative stimulus. Our musicians work with different groups across London and Cambridge to provide a vital creative outlet to increase wellbeing, bring communities together, and reduce the effects of isolation.

Your help will enable us to:

  • help develop relationships between young people and healthcare staff or care home residents and their carers, through shared experience of creating and experiencing music together
  • increase the confidence, self-esteem and social skills of participants through listening, collaboration, and communication
  • provide a respite and decrease isolation among the hard-to-reach in our community, who may not otherwise be able to access high-quality live music or make music themselves

WE NEED YOUR HELP

Like many charities, we have been impacted by the decline in public, local, and business investment and funding over the last few years, and the cost of living crisis is only making things harder - not just for us, but for the participants we work with. Your help will enable us to continue delivering creative music-making sessions to people who might not otherwise have access to these activities.
