I’m excited to be raising money for a truly wonderful cat rescue we visited in Cyprus, called Tala Cats. They do incredible work providing shelter, care, and love to over 1,000 stray and abandoned cats, many of which have been rescued from heartbreaking conditions. Their dedication to rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding forever homes for these cats is inspiring, and I’m eager to support them.
At my workplace, Dofos Pet Centre, we’ve recently started a fantastic initiative where each employee is paid a full day’s wages to volunteer or raise money for a charity of their choice.
Originally, I planned to take on the challenge of climbing Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK, to raise as much money as possible for this life-changing rescue. However, due to the current weather conditions and with winter approaching, it’s no longer safe to proceed with the climb as planned. I’m really sorry I can’t stick to the original plan, but I’ve decided to postpone the Ben Nevis climb until next summer for another charity.
In the meantime, I’ll be taking on a new challenge! On Thursday, I’ll be trekking the Scald Law, Black Hill, and Allermuir circuit in the Pentlands. It’s a 16-mile hike through some of the highest points in the range, offering amazing views of Edinburgh. This trek should take about the same time as Ben Nevis, just without the dangerous winds!
A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated to Tala Cats—your support means so much! Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference in helping Tala Cats continue their important work of rescuing, caring for, and rehoming cats in need. If you haven’t donated yet, any further contributions would be greatly appreciated!
