When my children and I started the Clevedon Cobra back at the beginning of lock down we honestly never thought that it would reach the length that it did. There were over 1’500 painted rocks collected in at the beginning of September and they have been safely stored in the hope that we would be able to create a more permanent feature by cementing them into place.
We were blown away by how many people contributed to the Clevedon Cobra and it was lovely to see how much joy it brought to so many people over the last few months. There are some truly impressive pieces of artwork that were added and we would love to be able to ensure that it remains a feature at the seafront for years to come.
North Somerset Council and Clevedon Town Council have now agreed that we can cement a selection of rocks from the Clevedon Cobra into place at the Bandstand on the seafront.
Clevedon Town Council have kindly offered to provide a large donation towards helping to pay for the work. However, we still need to raise a further £1,892 in order to cover the costs of the work which will cement the rocks into place and also provide a resin coating to help protect them from the elements and ensure their longevity.
I am now asking anyone who is able to consider donating towards helping to make this happen. However big or small, whatever you are able to give it will be hugely appreciated and every penny raised will be put towards getting the Cobra into his new permanent home.
Massive thanks,
Danni and Edith
