We provide one to one Play & Creative Arts Therapies to children who are struggling with emotional or behavioural difficulties. Sessions are delivered in the child's school. We work with parents on a one to one basis and in groups, and provide training to those who work with children and young people in our approach focusing on the use of play to support healthy emotional development.

0Clear Sky work with schools to provide early, age appropriate Play & Creative Arts Therapy services to vulnerable children when they need it most.
The children we support (usually between 4-12 years old) have experienced bereavement, bullying, family breakdown, parents in prison, parents with substance abuse issues, parents with mental health issues, traumatic experiences (e.g. car accident, fire etc.) and domestic violence. Sadly, this list is not exhaustive. As a result, these children often struggle with emotional and behavioural difficulties, mental health difficulties, challenging behaviour, anxiety, depression and learning difficulties.
Children’s mental health is one of the largest scale problems in our society; 1 in 4 mental illnesses start in childhood. We are yet to see the true impact on children and young people’s mental health due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, but early studies suggest that more children than ever may require our support in future. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic some areas children were waiting up to 18 months to receive support. Children face huge disadvantages if mental health is not addressed when they are still children.
Working with schools, our team of fully qualified therapists deliver our frontline therapeutic services including one-to-one or group Play & Creative Arts Therapy. Play & Creative Arts Therapy gives children a safe space to enable them to explore past or present traumas to work towards becoming happy children who love life and enjoy school.
95% of the children we supported last year show significant and measurable improvements in emotional wellbeing and behaviours.
We have been working throughout the Coronavirus crisis as our services are a vital part of schools’ efforts to support these children through this difficult and confusing time. We are providing a mix of face-to-face and online support (where appropriate) for our children and families. We have also launched a free online resource bank for all parents.
Alongside our work with children we also support parents and provide training for school staff and other practitioners. Our training courses and Institute for Play and Attachment enables us to increase the reach of our support across the UK and beyond with a mix of online and face-to-face training opportunities. We have members from all over the UK and across the globe. We successfully delivered our first COVID-safe training course in October.
We are members of The All Party Parliamentary Group on A Fit and Healthy Childhood and have a partnership with the National Education Union to deliver training to their members across the UK.
