Hello everyone,
We are a group of students from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and we are thrilled to present our new play, "Clean Again," at the Camden Fringe. This play written and directed by Izzy Macpherson (she/her), produced by Peixuan Gu(she/her),, and starring Bethany Peoples(she/her), centers on the story of Maisy, a university student returning home to celebrate her 22nd birthday.
On what should have been a joyous night out, Maisy meticulously follows all the right steps. However, despite her best efforts, the evening takes a dark turn, leading Maisy to confront the consequences of harrowing events. "Clean Again" delves into the unseen struggles faced by contemporary women, challenging the pervasive narrative that always blames women, regardless of the circumstances.
This one-woman play deals with the heavy subject matter of sexual assault, exploring Maisy's internal monologue before, during, and after a night out that changes her life completely. Our vision is to spark meaningful conversations about consent, accountability, and the need for societal empathy and understanding.
With the funds raised, we aim to cover production costs, venue fees, and marketing expenses to ensure that "Clean Again" reaches a wide audience. We believe that by sharing Maisy's story, we can contribute to a cultural shift towards greater awareness and support for survivors of sexual assault.
Thank you for supporting our project, and we look forward to sharing "Clean Again" with you all.
This project aims to raise funds to resolve a claim, or other type of dispute. Neither Crowdfunder nor the Project Owner can guarantee the outcome of that dispute, or that it will be resolved at all. Due to the uncertain nature of disputes, it is not possible for the Project Owner to be sure that the amount it raises will be enough to resolve the dispute or to see it through to its conclusion. If the desired outcome of the dispute is achieved in the first instance, it may be subject to appeal and may be overturned.
