To make class a protected characteristic on the UK'S Equality Act 2010

by Ellese Elliott in London, Greater London, United Kingdom

Class is a massive divisive tool in our society, from 'not having enough income', to 'not speaking the right way', or simply 'you're not trying hard enough'. The art's sector is particularly bad fr this, and reports show there has been no social mobility within the art's sector.

Many have faced classism, in one form or another. The barriers and discrimination people face from working class backgrounds are real, and they are created by the society we live in.

It's time society changed and embraced working class people, and their culture, for who they are and what it is. The middle and upper classes need to stop appropriating and making money from working class culture.

This is why we have set up 'That is Class', a project where we strive for social and legal change. We are working hard to campaign; delivering training to companies on how to break down classist barriers and practices, and lobbying government to make protect people against classism.

It's time to end classism now. Please help with whatever donation possible so we can reach our campaign goal!
