Support Civil Smoking – A Student Short Film by George Herdman, George Godding, Sanyat Shirke, Elleiz Koreli, Nula Millard, Ilker Demir & Joe Bhamra.
What happens when the one place you feel at home is suddenly taken away?
Civil Smoking is a student short film that explores themes of change, nostalgia, and the quiet rebellion of everyday life. When a smoking ban is introduced in pub gardens, Jeff, a man who has built his social life around these spaces, is forced to confront a new reality. Struggling to adapt, he navigates a world where the rituals and routines that once defined him are slipping away.
This film is a character-driven story that blends dry humor with a poignant look at how small societal changes can have big personal consequences. As students, we are passionate about bringing this vision to life, but we need your help to make it happen. Your contributions will go toward production costs, locations, equipment, and ensuring we can create a film that does justice to the story.
By supporting Civil Smoking, you’re not just backing a short film—you’re helping to tell a story about identity, belonging, and the way we cope with change. Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to making this project a reality.
Join us on this journey, and let’s make Civil Smoking happen together!
