Dear Fans
We really want to thank you for being so involved with everything we do.
We read every comment, every message and try to answer every call every day. It fills us with joy to know that there are a lot of people in this country and abroad that feel for us. We feel loved every day. Everything we do wouldn’t be possible without you, so, from the bottom of our unworthy filthy hearts, thank you!
The year has been very challenging for us.
After the pandemic and the isolation, we thought we had lost the little buzz that was rising around us, and we feared that we needed to start everything again. For a time it seemed the world didn’t care anymore about live music.
But then there was an energetic kickback. Bookings for gigs increased exponentially, and, in huge numbers, people started to come to our gigs. That reaction made us believe not only that we could gain the lost two years, but also that we could accelerate the process of establishing our presence as a British live band in Europe and the world.
All four of us started working hard and quickly found that the more we worked, the more work came in.
We started investing our modest assets in order to expand, both as a band and as a partnership and, since we saw fruitful results in doing so, we have been doing that ever since. Every pound that is not needed to pay the rent is going into the band: buying clothes, buying and fixing gear, travel expenses, music and media content production, social media promotion, spaghetti (tons of spaghetti) …. you can only imagine how expensive it is to remain competitive and in the public eye every day!
It is almost the end of this beautiful year, 2022, and through all that work and investment we reaped way more that we could ever imagine! Nominated again in awards including the UK Blues Awards, booked for some of the major Blues events in the world this and next year (like Joe Bonamassa’s Mediterranean Blues Cruise) and, most of all, we won The UK Blues Challenge, meaning that we will represent UK in Europe and in the USA!
In 2023 we have two big appointments to attend, appointments that came straight out of that win. At the end of January we will perform at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA and in June we have the European Blues Challenge in Chorzòw, Poland. We so want to do well in both competitions and, aiming for that, have upped the intensity of our work. Every day that we don’t have a show we have rehearsals and writing sessions. We want to go to go to both these Challenges in our best possible shape, representing proudly the music of the UK.
In order to be on top of the Blues scene in the world we need to constantly release new music, and it would be a great thing if we can record another album in 2023. After the great praise of our last two records (released in a span of 6 months apart) we have to aim to raise the bar by recording a yet better album. Always better, always bigger are words we live by. Seeing how fast things are going, we cannot wait another year. We must record the new album in 2023. We’d love to wait to sell out the previous ones and get some necessary funds but the world won’t wait for us!
All this means that we need you to help us now!
The trip, stay and production of the trips to Memphis and Poland are not funded by anyone (though The UK Blues Federation have generously given us £1,000 towards it). This means that if we want to attend the two Challenges, we need to pay from our own pockets. There are lot of more opportunities that will come from simply attending these two events, so we must go. The lowest cost available for the four of us to go to the States for a few days is around £3,000 (if we get lucky with cheap flights and accommodation). To go to Poland will cost us around £2,000. Then the production of an album will be from £10,000 to £20,000. Though let’s say we keep the costs to the lowest we can and we need £10,000 to do it.
So all in all we need to find £15,000.
If we can raise this money we can make everything possible. Keeping the Blues music alive and keeping ourselves up with major bands. Most of all, keeping us living this dream. We have amazing new songs that are waiting to be recorded, fantastic new moves we can’t wait to bring to the stage and mind blowing new show ideas to bring to the crowd for the year to come.
Without this amount we need to find other source of income, taking time out from rehearsals, gigs abroad and writing sessions. That would also delay the release of a new album to 2024 or later and, most importantly, will make us lose the momentum we’ve worked so hard to build up. If we lose the momentum we’ll need yet more time to gain it back, and it may not happen again at all. We must get it while it’s hot!
Which is where you come in - we need your help!
Help us out, and donate as much as you want. We have prepared some juicy rewards for all our supporters. Choose your budget. We will make sure that your generosity is royally rewarded.
We don’t think we’ve disappointed you up until now and hope you’re prepared to be SHOCKED (in the good sense!) Something big is coming and you can be a real part of all this.
Yours truly, always
