Your support makes a difference
Aim: Bringing hope, help, and healing to those living with chronic pain—together.
With around 42% of people struggling with chronic pain you probably either have ongoing pain or know someone with it. We at Chronic Pain Coaching all have persistent pain, the Founding Director Julie has a spinal cord injury and fibromyalgia and has built a team who also share an understanding of what life with chronic pain looks like.
We are here to support you. We currently help people living with chronic pain in Plymouth and the surrounding areas. Through regular Pain Cafés, the organisation offers a welcoming space for connection, peer support, and the development of self-management skills for those affected by long-term pain conditions.
Each Pain Café session lasts two hours and is held in small groups of up to 15 participants. Sessions are facilitated by two trained pain coaches, all of whom have lived experience of chronic pain and now successfully manage their condition without medication. These coaches provide practical guidance, resources, and encouragement to help individuals navigate everyday challenges.
The programme promotes gentle exercise as part of a holistic approach to lifestyle improvement, alongside expert advice on key areas such as sleep and pain management strategies.
The pain cafes in Plymouth are very successful but we are coming to the end of our grant funding and will be unable to fund any sessions after the Summer. We will use funding to continue the work we have started in Plymouth.
