We would like to share some exciting news with you!
Moldgreen United Reformed Church is going to be planting a living Christmas tree for the whole community to enjoy at the entrance to their carpark on Old Wakefield Rd. Local residents asked for there to be a tree back in the community like there used to be and we want to make it happen - lighting up Moldgreen this Christmas and beyond.
Because this is a living tree, grown in a pot, it won’t be a huge tree to start with – only 5-6ft tall. However, we hope that it will grow strong and tall, with healthy roots growing into the ground to anchor it, providing everything it needs to thrive.
This means it will mirror our community! When our roots are strong we feel connected, stable and part of something bigger than we can be just as individuals. When we come together, whether it’s working to make the area a nicer place, or to share a cup of tea and a natter , we can make a big difference.
This tree is going to belong to the community – if you would like to make a donation towards keeping it lit up over this Christmas period and future years, that would be amazing, and hugely appreciated!
The “Little Light Switch-On” is going to be held on December 7th.
