THE FOOD WE GAVE LAST YEAR. We are a Ugandan charity working out of the UK . We have all the acounts and banking done over here so no problems arise. There are just two of us over here and four people there in Mukunyu Uganda. We are a not for profit charity and all those that work for us do it for no wage .We have been giving the local people around the village of mukunyu food for their Christmas day dinner for over 10 year's now but this year for the first time we have had to extend our fundraising efforts as we have had to move forward and help over a dozen elderly people with medical needs and transport to the hospital. NEEDED TO GET TO THE HOSPITAL
Our worst case was an old lady who scolded her leg and needed urgent attention. So we have not been able to raise enough to feed them as we like to. Please can you help us to hit the mark and if you can some left over for other things that pop up.
THE FOOD WE WANT TO GIVE We know covid has hit the world hard a few years ago, every country is trying to cope but over there they get no help and they have to come to us for donations of food, maizeflour, rice, sugar, salt, bread, milk and cooking oil. Charcoal and parafin for cooking and light along with matches of course. They live on a very basic level of food so once a year we try to help them out with a nice meal also, so they can have a Christmas like everyone else . We still want to feed them at Christmas as normal but will need support this year to raise the funds to buy the food and essentials . We get every age group coming to the village at Christmas and so nobody gets missed out. They bring what they have to put the food in and take it home or sit around chating while they eat, with everyone else and let us know of any problems they have that we might be able to help with. Some people need transport to go to hospital, some need medicines. Even paracetamol is to expensive for them so please every penny counts as you can see.
