Your support makes a difference
Aim: Purchasing land for a Christian school for those unable to access quality education and a home for a Bible Seminary to train Church leaders.
A VIBRANT COMMUNITY
The Reformed Church of Pakistan is an active evangelical and reformed denomination of around 40 churches and mission stations throughout the country, primarily in southern Punjab. For more information about its history, beliefs and current work, please visit https:/www.rcofp.com/
AN ACTIVE OUTREACH
The Church’s ministry is mainly in areas of extreme poverty and even bonded labour. Most of the leaders, themselves, are only able to maintain their ministry through working in low-paid jobs. An initiative took place several years ago to provide pastors with motorcycles to visit outlying members and mission stations.
Active in evangelism and mission, the churches are also engaged in educational, vocational and social programmes and initiatives within their communities. Among these have been one in which poor women were trained to use sewing machines which were then donated to them so they could establish their own home ‘industry’. Another project offers basic medical assistance. A school is supported in a poverty-ridden community in the Sindh desert.
AN URGENT NEED
To develop and maximise the Church’s ministry, the leaders have long believed that the purchase of a plot of land upon which to build a multi-purpose space for an office, school and seminary is essential. The projected school would provide education from kindergarten to higher secondary levels for Christian students unable to access quality education. The seminary, already in existence but ‘homeless’, is already equipping and training Christian workers to degree level and beyond so as to serve church and society in Pakistan. However, it would be greatly assisted by having a ‘home base’.
A plot of land has been identified and offered at a good price to the Church by a Christian family. It is ideally situated in a central rural setting in the southern Punjab, equidistant from Multan and Bahawalpur and within easy reach of many of the congregations as well as being near major national transport links. Purchase will also assist the Church in gaining a more regulated and secure relationship with the state.
THE IMMEDIATE COST
The total cost is approximately £7800 of which the church has raised the huge sum (for them) of £1300 as the deposit. With the purchase of land, the Church can then confidently take the next steps toward realising their longer-term vision.
So I am looking to raise £6500. Can you help? The Christian community in Pakistan would value your support!
GUARANTEED!
