Our Alternative High Street

What if the High Street was businesses that champions repair, reuse, repurposing, sharing, and upskilling. If it promoted a culture where caring for what we have and sharing it becomes the norm, rather than defaulting to buying new.

Our Alternative High Street will have stalls to help you with this.

The Sustainable Market - will host a range of local artisans, farmers, and ethical businesses. The market will features handmade, sustainable goods such eco-friendly home products, and organic produce. Including charities and information stalls.

Youth and Family Engagement - we will have a dedicated area for families with interactive, hands-on activities, such as crafting with recycled materials, educational nature walks, or learning about wildlife conservation. Children will be encouraged to create art or write letters to future generations about the importance of protecting the environment.

Live Music and Eco-Art Installations - a range of live acoustic music performances and green-themed art installations will fill space air with creativity

Interactive Climate Action Zone - this area will invite attendees to participate in tangible actions for climate change, such as pledging to reduce their carbon footprints or plant a tree.

Nature and Biodiversity Hub - this will be a tranquil area will be dedicated to celebrating Chester’s natural beauty and local wildlife. Visitors can explore educational exhibits about local ecosystems and endangered species, with an emphasis on the impact of the climate and nature emergency.

Conclusion:

Chester Green Weekend 2025 will be a celebration of both the beauty of nature and the urgent need for action on climate change. It will bring together the local community, educators, activists, businesses, and visitors to learn, share, and take concrete steps toward building a more sustainable future. By combining entertainment, education, and action, it can inspire a collective commitment to environmental stewardship in Chester and beyond.
