This year, I'm running as a giant inflatable dog to raise funds for Nelmer's Legacy, supporting families affected by colorectal cancers.

As most of you will know, every year I run (walk!) the Great North Run with my 2 northern besties dressed as a giant inflatable animal!  This year, we are dogs! In recent years, we've been cats, pigs, ducks, giraffes, unicorns, meerkats, cows and penguins, and between us have raised thousands for our chosen charities, through the generosity of our friends, families and supporters at the event.

This year, I'm running for Nelmer's Legacy, a new charity being set up to support individuals and their families affected by colorectal cancers.  My friend Sarah sadly lost her husband Richard "Nelmer" to this awful disease.  Before he died, they vowed to support others in the same situation by sharing what they had learnt over the last year, and fundraising to buy and run a holiday home for families to make and relive precious memories.  This dream is starting to become reality, and it is a privilege to be a small part of it.

Any donation, big or small is so appreciated.  It certainly makes the 13.1 miles easier knowing that it's for a bigger purpose.

Thanks so much for your support.
