Chattersense is a small charity with big ambitions! We work with children, young people and their families (0-24 years).
We are an Occupational Therapy service which means that we are fully committed to ensuring that children who attend our service work work at enabling them to participate in the things they need and want to do - at the basic level of immediate needs including, self care, physical independence, social and emotional development, social skills and very importantly play!
In additional to therapy we also promote opportunities for inclusive and meaningful play, this can be within groups or family play sessions.
It can be hard to find opportunities for young people to have their social and emotional needs addressed, especially if they are in an adults body. We will provide that opportunity and ensure they have access to the play equipment appropriate for their needs. It can be difficult for siblings, who are often referred to as "glass" children so we ensure that the entire family has the opportunity for quality play experiences.
We will be able to accommodate those with complex physical and/or learning difficulties, vision or hearing impairments, sensory challenges, social and emotional difficulties and all other challenges.
We strive to ensure our therapy sessions feel like play and that the parents are involved in the process through collaborative aims, understanding and education.
