Changing the Pace of Bowls and Sustainability

Who are we?

We are a Small Bowls club packing a big punch, Our team has no other than 5 team England players both men and women, We currently have a membership of 247 and growing, we sit under the stand at Torquay United football club.

Why are we crowdfunding?

After Covid we all struggled, Clubs really struggled, expendable income was down and so hobbies decreased, People still isolated especially the older bowls community, then we came back we rebuilt we modernised and now we are trying to further improve our facilities, we have international players at Torquay United IBC who now have the playing surface and the lighting and heating worthy of there skills, now we need technology, having Technology attracts a younger element which increases revenue and makes the club sustainable, A younger element creates a better community and sense of family and thats what we strive for at Torquay United IBC. We received a grant for half of the cost of our project, and now we need the other half !. the project will pay for a new electronic scoreboard and further camera technology which will enable us to showcase the clubs sport across the county and even the world.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The Sports England grant we received was for purchase of the following 

1. Electronic Scoreboard

2. Further cameras and Monitors to enhance playing experience

Community impact

The impact is huge - already Torquay united Bowls club is paving the way forward with changing the pace and stepping up with technology, this encourages younger players and more funding/sponsorship and income and will keep the club sustainable, modern and at the forefront of bowls development
