To support the club to return to cricket

by Mark Roche in East Challow, England, United Kingdom

The club is very much looking forwards to welcoming back all of our friends, players, young cricketers and families as soon as the restrictions allow this, our intention is to be able to resume some further cricket activities as and when the Government allow us to do so, and to do so at a minimal (if any) cost - we are fully aware that this unprecedented time has not been easy for many of our friends.

During this period of inactivity we have continued to maintain the playing surface, have been required to pay some fixed costs (rent and insurance), and have also invested in new equipment (a new mobile cage, refurbished nets, ground equipment). We are very pleased that we have been able to offer the use of the nets for all players, some slightly more formal training for teams, and are now able to begin to welcome you back to the club to enjoy the, socially distanced, enjoyable atmosphere that we know you all enjoy.

Our work on the facility development has gathered pace during this period and we are pleased to confirm that we are in the process of signing a new 25 year lease, with discussions around the second ground are also continuing.  The work with Stephen (our architect) has been both challenging and rewarding, and has seen us get to the point where we will soon be able to share our vision of the building development with you.

Whilst we have been able to reduce our expenditure as much as we can, and we have been fortunate to receive a grant from the local authority, we also understand that many of you may be able to support the club with a donation to help us to maintain the facilities and ensure that we are in the strongest position possible to return to action when we can.

Should you feel able and willing to make a donation to the club to help us in this uncertain time, we are able to claim Gift Aid from HMRC - this can add a minimum of 25% to your donation at no additional cost to you (please refer to the Gift Aid T&Cs for further info).

Please do not feel that we are asking you for money, this is a purely voluntary contribution to the club and no membership, subscription, or other benefits are associated with any such donation.

We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
