Who is CHAKAI?

Hello! My name is Danny, I run a mobile bubble tea trailer under the brand name CHAKAI. CHAKAI means "Tea Party" in Japanese. We hope our customers can enjoy a cup of bubble tea and snacks at their leisure during their busy days.

CHAKAI's background & mission

Some of my customers already know that I am from Hong Kong. Before moving to the UK, I was lucky to have travelled to different cities in Asia. From Tokyo to Taipei, from Bangkok to Singapore. Every place has its own culture and unique taste of food. As an experienced food lover, I wanted to deliver the most original taste with a modern touch through CHAKAI and share it with my friends in the UK. Our food and drink will convey a sense of home and heartwarming memories to some of our friends who had just moved to the UK.  We are delighted to see the young generation loving our Boba tea. They have posted pictures, shared their experiences with CHAKAI and hashtagged CHAKAI on social media. As a result, we have become quite popular in the Wokingham Area. I greeted and chatted with every customer and prepared every cup of tea by myself. For most of the time, I remembered the specific preferences of the returned customers. We believe customer experience is not only about the quality and taste of food and drink, but also the relationship and friendship nurtured through time

CHAKAI's future and expansion

We have seen, in the past few months, that our brown sugar boba and taro green milk tea had always topped our sales chart, the fruit teas with popping boba had become the hot items for teenagers and Por Por Cha Siu Buns were always the most popular item during lunch time.  In response to the market demand and our customers’ feedback, we are now working actively to streamline our kitchen production and are going to launch our new products soon. 

Asian cuisine has become a popular eating culture in the UK.  Based on the experience and supporting figures from the previous months, we are confident that selling Asian street food and drinks in a catering trailer is the way to match customers' needs. People across the nation are happy to grab a cup of bubble tea with a bun as a quick lunch or an afternoon delight. My goal is to establish more CHAKAI mobile bubble tea trailers to serve the demand. This mobile operation model is definitely the way to develop the market and address the needs. I am sure people in different counties will love our food and drinks.

A Win-win franchise model is the way to go

For this Crowdfunder project, we would like to raise funds to employ a qualified and experienced consultant and a legal advisor to establish a franchise programme and expand our business across the country.  The first step we will do is to develop a business plan and franchise model with the help of a franchise consultant in order to build a win-win partnership model between franchisees and CHAKAI. We strongly believe that our operating model of low setup cost, direct engagement between operator and customer, short learning curve and quick return on investment cycle will bring a lot of potential franchisees to join our "CHAKAI & PARTNERS" Programme.
