Every corner of our neighbourhood should have access to life-saving defibrillators. Join us in this vital campaign to equip Plympton Chaddlewood with the tools to protect our loved ones and neighbours.
Why Defibrillators Matter: Time is of the essence in a cardiac emergency. Defibrillators deliver crucial shocks to restore normal heart rhythms, increasing the chances of survival dramatically. Having more defibrillators in public spaces means quicker access to treatment, potentially saving countless lives - with no training needed to operate them.
Our Community's Need: Chaddlewood is a thriving and active community. However, as Councillor Lauren McLay discovered after an audit of devices in the ward, access to defibrillators is worryingly limited. By working with local businesses and organisations, and strategically placing these devices in key locations we can ensure that help is always within reach.
Behind the campaign: Following a recent CPR and Defib training session, Cllrs McLay and Poyser consulted with The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) on the needs of Chaddlewood and the types of devices and storage solutions needed to best meet the needs of our community - this project is a result of that work and research undertaken into device provision in the community.
The Impact of Your Support: Your contribution to this crowdfunding campaign will directly, and only, fund the purchase and installation of additional defibrillators throughout Plympton Chaddlewood. With your support, we can provide peace of mind to residents and visitors alike, knowing that help is never far away in an emergency.
Each defibrillator and storage cabinet costs around £1,900. If 350 residents donated just £5 we'd get one life-saving defibrillator installed in our community.
Currently, we're fundraising for an additional defibrillator in Chaddlewood but if we're successful, we'll stretch this target to fund more towards additional devices and their upkeep.
Join Us in Saving Lives: Together, we can make Plympton Chaddlewood a safer place to live, work, and play. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to our goal. Spread the word, rally your friends and family, and let's ensure that we keep the beating hearts of our community going!
