About me 
Hello, my name is Corinna, I’m currently a ceramist in a dental laboratory and a part time nail artist.
I absolutely adore working with clay. I love sculpting and although I’ve only been doing it for a short time I’d like to take it further than my weekly evening class.
I live with my ever supportive partner and 2 children who are 9 and 11. I’ve always been creative and have indulged in many creative hobbies such as needle felting, crochet, stained glass, mosaics, and painting to name a few.
Why clay?
Clay is such an expressive material. It’s a hobby for many to relax and create whatever their mind can dream up.
Currently I’ve been sculpting dogs. My original project was to make an urn for my dogs ashes. I then started sculpting other breeds. I’d love to start a business for selling my creations. I would then aim to start classes for children.
I believe children benefit greatly from creative play. Putting screens down for a while and creating sculptures in clay. A chance to meet other children who enjoy the same creativity. I’d like to set up a business of offering classes to home schooled children with the further goal of taking clay back into schools.
What do I need the money for?
The main thing I will need for this goal is a kiln. Despite saving up I am still a long way from obtaining a kiln.
I’d ideally like to buy a Skutt KMT1027. It would need to be big enough to fire many pieces made by my students ready for the next class.
I would initially start to sell my own pieces which are mainly dog sculptures , this would create capital to rent a space to hold the classes and supply materials . I would then bring those pieces home to fire in the kiln and return them in the next class to glaze or paint.
