People should be allowed to live their life as they choose without any prejudice or violence. Live and let live, much love to all.
A wonderful initiative for a positive memorial
Was very moved by this cruel event. I had not heard of it before. The two men should be remembered
Although years have passed I still carry a deep seated sadness about this unbearable incident. Will never forget Terry or Bernard and wish their families peace. Of course am right behind & alongside any efforts to educate & inform.
We should never forget. This will help in so many ways and will hopefully help to educate others with the amazing work Plymouth Pride carries out
RIP, LOVE not HATE
I think it is a wonderful idea and I am for it one hundred per cent. Let's stop all this hatred.
A really important memorial to the tragic consequences of hateful ignorance.
Good luck with this fantastic and important project!
I remember being 15 when this happened and it made me so fearful of coming out. An important story to be remembered and honoured. A wonderful idea. Well done to all involved and the brilliant Pride in Plymouth.
Never ever forget what happened - those who forget, make it easier for bigots to do this again.
Respectfully needed.
Still much to be done around the world ... I did not know this story and was deeply saddened to read about it.
Such a tragic event which changed the relationship between the police and the LGBT community. It's a relationship we hope that gets stronger each year and we hope to keep finding new ways to work in the coming years.
Great cause, glad to see this happening. Bernadette and Neil Casey
It is so heart-warming to see so many people donating to this brilliant cause. It's a reminder that love and hope exist. Good luck and keep going with all the brilliant work you do.
Good luck with this great project.
This is such an important project for the community both local and wider.
An important project to remember the past and help change the future.
I’ve lived in Plymouth for 20 years now, I do remember hearing about this murder when I moved here and being shocked and appalled. I hope Plymouth will keep moving forward. A memorial is important for Mr Sweet and Mr Hawken and their family.
As a 20 year old in Plymouth at the time this shocked me that people would have so much hate. I hope that as a generation has moved on we can remember what was and make change.
May they rest in peace, and may we work towards a more equal and just society for all.
Thanks for doing this.
I remember how shocked I was when this happened. A memorial is a great idea and I am very glad I can help. Love is love.
