This Christmas, 3.8 million people across the UK face extreme poverty, struggling to eat, clothe and keep themselves warm. Thousands turn to selling the Big Issue as a lifeline, providing a vital source of income for themselves and their families. But these Big Issue Vendors can’t do this without our support.
We’d love colleagues to donate what they can towards purchasing a Vendor Support Kit this Winter. At a cost of £35 per kit, each vendor who receives one is provided with the tools they need to work through the winter and the training they need to improve their lives:
- A Big Issue beanie – To help vendors stay warm
- A Big Issue poncho – To help vendors stay dry
- A hot drink and food voucher – To keep vendors fuelled
- Equipment to go cashless – Creating £520 a year additional income on average
- Specialist sales and employment training – Delivered via a personalised support plan to move vendors into sustainable and long-term employment
**For every £35 raised by colleagues to purchase a Vendor Support Kit, C&C will match the funds raised and buy an additional kit, up to a maximum of 150 kits. So, for every kit our colleagues purchase together, we’ll be providing two Vendors with a vital Support Kit each.**
Every colleague who donates an amount – no matter how big or small – will be entered into a draw to receive a bottle of wine (20 bottles available)*.
