On Friday 2 April 2021, pupils from South Edinburgh schools involved in Lismore RFC's new Edinburgh Harlequins youth rugby set up, will banish their bed for a less comfortable location as they take part in a "Kip In" fundraiser as part of their CashBack Schools of Rugby community project.
So whether it's sleeping on the floor, in the garage or a tent in the garden, our pupils will be away from the comfort of their own bed.
Although The Kip In challenge doesn’t replicate what it’s like to sleep rough, it will give participants an idea of the situation a lot of young people find themselves in, while also supporting those who face this as a reality.
Money raised from The Kip In will be donated to the Looseheadz Foundation, a charity dedicated to tackling mental health.

LooseHeadz is a mental health movement centred around rugby.
Our mission is simple; use our platform to find new and innovative ways to advance the dialogue around mental health. The solution, however, is much more complex.
We believe that by building a community, united around a shared mission, we can begin to turn the tide against poor mental health.
We know the devastating impact of poor mental health. It is an issue that affects not just the individual struggling, but also those around them.
By helping to improve the mental fitness of those in our community, we hope to be able to not just improve their wellbeing, but also of their friends and family.
The LooseHeadz Foundation is a registered charity (#1193051).
- Mission: To achieve a betterment of mental fitness for those with any association with rugby across the UK.
- Vision: To normalise the conversation around mental health to achieve an upturn in everybody’s mental state.
- How will we do this? The goal of our Foundation is simple; to have a mental health lead in each (A LooseHead) of the 1,800 rugby clubs in the UK
