Cash for Kids (England, Wales & NI)

RCN 1122062, Stockton-on-Tees

Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity helping the children that need it most across the UK. Our mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in our communities who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs. We believe that all children should be able to express their individuality, achieve their potential and live life to the full. We work with grassroots organisations that aim to make a difference to young lives, directly supporting families who often have nowhere else to go.

Cash for Kids (England, Wales & NI)

Cash for Kids is the charity of local radio stations across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. This includes Metro Radio, TFM & CFM in the North East; Pulse 1, Hallam FM & Viking FM in Yorkshire; Lincs FM in Lincolnshire; Hits Radio, Rock FM and Radio City in the North West; Free Radio, Gem and Signal 1 in the Midlands; Wave 105 on the South Coast; The Wave in South Wales; Pirate FM in Cornwall; Cool FM, Downtown Radio and Downtown Country in Northern Ireland  and the Hits Radio and Greatest Hits Radio networks across the UK.

The grants our charities make in these areas make a huge difference to families.

An example of a group we helped in 2021 is Oasis Preschool & Retreat in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. The Retreat is a specialist unit for children with significant special educational needs and disabilities.

Cash for Kids has funded some specialist outdoor play equipment including a ball run, activity frame, painting easel and car ramp. All these items are to support critical thinking , exploration, fun and laughter and help develop imagination skills. Outside play is especially important to support children's well being, as it reduces anxiety and enhances freedom and that feel good factor of being in the fresh air.
