Who are we?
We are a couple who live in Barry, Wales that play Australian Rules Football!
It’s a weird and wonderful sport that we’re passionate about and are heavily involved in as players and volunteers.
We’ve represented our local club, London Club, Wales & Great Britain and have recently been selected to represent Great Britain at an international AFL event in Toronto, Canada this August!
Why we’re fundraising.
Australian Football is not funded in the UK, so all of the expenses of our training, league matches, and international outings fall on us.
We will be competing at the Transatlantic Cup over a couple of weeks and we are paying for flights, accommodation, food, kit & leisure wear etc ourselves.
Any money you might be willing to donate to help us would be greatly appreciated.
We will also be running a few fundraising activities such as photoshoots with Calumn (he is a professional photographer) and possibly a raffle & quiz night - so keep your eyes peeled!
More about us
Off the field, we also volunteer at our local club, and leagues, for AFL Wales and GB AFL.
Calumn has been President of Cardiff Panthers for 3 years after serving 1 year as a Vice President with Carissa being the Vice President & Treasurer since 2019.
Calumn’s passion has also transferred into being Head Coach for the Cardiff Panthers with Carissa taking on Umpiring responsibilities for home games.
We both help run the leagues that we compete in and organise trips for AFL Wales & Cardiff Panthers.
Last year Carissa was voted in as a Commissioner for AFL Europe and now sits on their Board of Directors.
In addition to this, we have both been involved in the organisation of the kit, accommodation and fundraising for the GB Teams.
We have fallen in love with this sport and do our best to help promote the growth of footy in Wales & the UK.
