Caring Matters Now - UK Charity For Those Affected By Congenital Melanocytic Naevus

RCN 1192670, Cambridge

Caring Matters Now supports children and adults living with CMN, funds pioneering research to find a cure for CMN and raises awareness of CMN to educate the general public and medical profession.

Caring Matters Now is the UK charity supporting those affected by Congenital Melanocytic Naevi(CMN) – a genetic condition, consisting of a dark brown hairy birthmark covering up to 80% of the body.  The condition can also grow internally, which in the worst cases can be fatal.

Caring Matters Now was founded in 1997 by Jodi Whitehouse, at the time a 17-year-old with extensive CMN covering her body.

Our vision:

We have a vision of a world where no one suffers from CMN.

Caring Matters Now focuses its work in three areas:

  • We support those affected by CMN
  • We fund pioneering research to find a cure for CMN
  • We raise national and international awareness of CMN
