In November 2018, Jason's brother-in-law, Steffan James Rees, took his own life at aged 26. This was a huge shock to the whole family as nobody had any idea that Steff struggled with his mental health. Steff was the life and soul of any room he walked in to. Making everyone laugh with his witty puns and great sense of humour.

Steff and Jason used to run together a lot and they'd always said they'd run a marathon together, something that now will never be realised.

Instead David and Jason will be running this half marathon in Steff's memory and to raise funds for these two charities. CALM who helps people in Steff's situation, and Sandy Bear who have given Nansi, Jason's daughter support after losing her uncle to suicide.

Sandy Bear have also supported other children, who are close to our hearts who have suffered bereavement in childhood.

Sandy Bear Children's Bereavement Charity are a small charity based in Pembrokeshire who support bereaved children in helping them understand what they are going through. They provide an amazing service to those children in need in Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire, alongside a Wales wide helpline.

Campaign Against Living Miserably (C.A.L.M) are a charity standing up against stigma, standing with anyone who's finding life tough, and standing against suicide.

You'll find us both running the route for these two amazing charities so please give whatever you can and/or share our page to spread awareness.

Thank you

Dave and Jason
