Canaan Trust

The Trust, founded in 1995, operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year seeking to support and safeguard any individual (male or female) or family who is homeless, in danger of becoming homeless, or who may be struggling unable to access food or other essential supplies.
The Trust provides holistic person centred support to ensure that no-one in need is left isolated and alone. Those in need will be supported and helped to engage with all appropriate services ensuring that their voices and needs are recognised and addressed.
Homelessness is visible through those who are suffering being "Street Homeless" but 62% of homeless are "Hidden Homeless" - individuals who may be sofa surfing, living in tents, in cars or sheds, families fleeing domestic abuse or forced to stay in inappropriate or over-crowded accommodation.
Homelessness is NOT a life-style choice - it can and does happen to anyone.

The Trust is located in Erewash, Derbyshire, but it additionally works within Broxtowe, Nottinghamshire as well as being accessible for those in need regardless of their 'local connection'.

The Trust is dependent on charitable donations to help fund its work.

Hot News: The Trust has just agreed the purchase of an additional property which it plans to refurbish and once fitted out are looking to open it as dedicated safe, secure, supported (24-7) accommodation for FEMALES who are homeless or in need.

Thank you for caring
