Why We're Standing for Election
On May 1st, Buckinghamshire Council will be reduced from 147 Councillors to just 97. The Missendens is one of only ten wards to receive three Councillor seats - making this an important opportunity for meaningful change.
After 130 years of Conservative control in Buckinghamshire, we believe it's time to ask: Is our community truly thriving, or do we need fresh perspectives and independent voices?
The Problem with Party Politics in Local Government
Many candidates fielded by political parties:
- Don't actually live in our community
- Are bound by party rules rather than community needs
- Answer to Westminster leadership that doesn't understand our local challenges
- Have prioritised party interests over community needs during their time in office
Our Independent Promise
As independent candidates, we - Caralyn Bains, Catherine Bunting, and Ross Pusey - pledge to:
- Serve The Missendens without party constraints
- Listen directly to residents needs
- Make decisions based solely on what's best for our community
- Bring dedicated attention to our local opportunities and challenges
We Need Your Support
Unlike party candidates, we don't have access to large party donors or established political funding. We're relying on community support to fund our campaign.
Your contribution will help us:
- Print and distribute informational materials
- Organise community meetings and events
- Reach voters through local advertising
- Cover essential campaign expenses
Any contribution, regardless of size, will make a difference in our ability to reach voters and share our vision for independent representation. Thank you.
Together, we can bring independent voices to The Missendens and create the responsive, community-focused representation we deserve.
You have 3 votes on 1st May, please use them to vote for Caralyn Bains, Catherine Bunting, and Ross Pusey. Let us serve you, and give this ward the attention and support that it deserves.
