Café in the Park

Hi, 

We are a charity called Families1st 4 Additional Needs and we help and support people with ASD, neurological conditions and mental health issues. During Covid-19 we have also included helping people in poverty and crisis into our manifesto. We opened our foodbank and Eco-Pantry to help support individuals and families in need and crisis. We have also collaborated with The Wellness Tribe, Support & Grow NE, The People's Kitchen and Barnardo's in being able to provide Clothes, Bedding, Toys, Household furniture, Beds, Toiletries and Food parcels to refugees and their families, also for people in crisis and fleeing from domestic violence. 

We currently have a small team of volunteers who work really hard to support the local community with our daily community food table we provide along side the food bank and eco Pantry we provide. We also work with the Probation service and by providing a safe and welcoming environment for people to carry out their probation sentences.

Our aim is to create a Community Café at the Brunswick Park Centre which will provide a safe and comfortable space to hold mental health support groups and financial wellness workshops as well as SEN sessions and parent support groups. We also aim to create jobs for people from the local community, as our Community Café will need permanent employees.

This money can help us achieve our aim. Being able to buy the furniture and items needed to start our project up as well as providing much needed funds for advertisement of our project, will help us enormously. Overall we aim to make our Community Centre a vital part of our community.
