So as to remain competitive in Motorsport racing & subsequently succeed in the sport, equipment requires maintaining and replacing regularly

I am Jack, I am 8 years old and have been racing go karts for the past 15 months. This sport is my passion, both on and off of the race track and my life surrounds it. The sport allows me to push myself further and further outside of my comfort zone, develop my mental and physical health, and to learn valuable life lessons and critical thinking along the way.

I love both the driving of the kart and i am also learning a lot about the engineering side of things too, and hopefully one day I will be designing my own karts and even racing cars.

The biggest barrier in the Motorsport industry is the associated costs it comes with. Rich families can buy their child's way into racing teams for expert support, whereas every one else is running everything on a child and parent level, just like me and my Dad are. In order to attract sponsors, those companies need to see a return on investment such as massive social media followings, and the associated publicity from winning races. Neither of these things start to happen much until you're consistently turning a lot of heads on the track.

In order to achieve greater results on the track, we really require a race tuned engine, which most other racers already have. These engines are developed to maximise the power output beyond the standard model, whilst also remaining totally compliant to engine regulations. These typically put out 30-40% more power than the standard engine, which is what we are currently racing on. The associated costs achieved through this initiative will help us achieve the goal of purchasing a race tuned engine which we can use to achieve much greater results in 2025 and beyond and have a shot at achieving podium finishes in our championship races. Long term, this will also greatly improve our social media presence and our abilities to attract increased funding through sponsorships and partnerships.

We race at Clay Pigeon Raceway in Dorset and intend on entering both their club championship and their IKR championship (Independent Kart Racing). As we progress through 2025, additional competitions will be added to this list where possible.

We recognise that we are not the only ones struggling to fully fund ourselves in this sport snd we actively donate any parts we no longer require to other racers wherever we can, items such as worn tyres, outgrown safety equipment and racewear.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read our pledge, it is truly appreciated!
