Who are we?
Fairway futures are a community group currently applying for Charity registration. We are currently stood up and supported financially by CC Golf in Glasgow, who aim to support with staff, equipment and provision of facilities going forward.
Why are we crowdfunding?
Golf is an expensive sport to take part in. It is also not simple to access when your family background has physical complications due to disability or mental health. Additionally, equipment, course fees and coaching make it out of reach for hundreds of thousands of children across Scotland.
The sport of golf should not be only available to those who are financially or physically capable. We intend to get as many children as possible active with golf through this initiative.
How we’ll spend the money raised
We will hire a PGA pro and simulator time, to train the kids with equipment we provide. As the children progress, we will purchase junior memberships at local clubs for them to continue their journey.
We will employ a recycling specialist to recover unused fitting equipment usually sent to landfill, to build clubs for our young Fairway Futures players.
Community impact
In conjunction with ‘Active Scotland’ Fairway Futures will coordinate with schools hosting the lowest average income and most challenging home lives, to ensure they have the chance to be involved. Families who cannot afford to offer their children the chance to play Golf, will have the option available to them via Fairway Futures.
How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
