I came out as non-binary in 2023, with support from my amazing partner and family. I have since received a formal diagnosis of gender dysphoria from both my GP and a psychiatrist (which was required to be cleared for the surgery), and they are supportive of pursuing surgery as a means of alleviating my gender dysphoria. Right now, I don’t feel like myself. I look down at my chest and it feels wrong, like it’s not a part of me. I know that this surgery is what I need to finally feel comfortable in my skin.
My parents' help so far has been absolutely invaluable - my mam and I have been saving everything we can and she paid for my psychiatric assessment and consultation with the surgeon (£450 in total). We will continue to save up as much as we can but in the meantime, anything at all that you can spare would be so very appreciated.
