I moved to Thailand in 2004 with the intention of mastering the art of Thai Boxing after training, competing, and coaching in kickboxing for 10 years. The plan was to then return after a year or two with added authentic experience and a deep understanding of the art.
The first part of the plan I managed to do (it took 10 years), although the second got somewhat delayed (actually for 20 years).
This had something to do with the fact that I literally got 'stuck' in the country. I needed to KNOW this art, and I just kept going. Before I knew it 7 years had passed, then 10. Twenty in all. That in turn might have been related to me getting married and somehow turning out 3 new additions to my family, but unfortunately hardship followed (and this befalls many who move here with the intention of living a normal life and find out the reality the hard way).
After several attempts in the last decade to re-locate my fam to my own country, offering my services to other local facilities and seeking possible partnerships, I ran into only dead-ends and was thus forced to return once again to Thailand and my family.
So this is another rally call and an attempt to complete my original plan--opening the first authentic Thai Boxing facility in my hometown. (This was also the wish of my now-deceased grandmaster trainer, who taught techniques like no other.)
My initial plan is to use funds for equipment and space rentals (arts centre, etc) to run and expand classes and private training with the purpose of generating capital for premises.
Thai Boxing is now more popular than ever and can, I believe, add much to the lives of interested parties in the local community, and the time now is right.
I am looking for funding to finally kick this 20-years-in-the-making project into life, as well as return to my hometown with my family.
I have much to offer in terms of what I have learned in the last 2 decades with world champions and a grandmaster. This encompasses the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, fitness, positive mindset and personal growth aspects.
