Burgess Sports believes that every child deserves a great start in life, and that opportunity is at the heart of that. We need funding to provide free places so that all children in our community to have fun, make friends, learn sports, eat well and set healthy habits for life throughout the year.

0The problem
Holidays are a terribly difficult time for young people in the community where our charity works. Many children do not have a holiday and have nothing to do apart from watch the television. They also miss out on the hot food that their schools provide.
Local schools refer the most vulnerable children to our holiday programme. Our activities run throughout the year on every day of the school holidays - including the Christmas and Easter breaks.
We have over 100 children attending everyday. However, sadly, we have 100 families on our waiting list. Without the funding we cannot offer them places.
Our solution
We provide days packed with fun sports and other activities. They play rugby, cricket, football, basketball, tennis, BMX, volleyball, hockey and much more. Importantly we make sure everyone has a hot healthy lunch provided by our brilliant chef. They have fun, eat well, make friends, get fit and learn many sports.
It is all free.
In addition our older participants - 13 to 17 years old - are put on confidence building leadership courses and all volunteer countless hours to our programmes.
We passionately believe that no child should be left behind and forgotten during the holidays. The children make friends, are happy and gain confidence. Many go on to join the sports clubs in the area.
Finance
For £12 we can offer a place to one child for a day.
For £50 we can offer a place to one child for a week.
For £250 we can offer a place to one child for the whole summer holiday.
