well done on this important campaign
Keep this area as natural woodland and out of the shadow of tall buildings.
Essential to keep our green areas
I discovered Burgess Park yesterday when I went to the funfair and was struck by its beautiful wildlife. It is a magical, precious place for our community to enjoy and really needs protecting. Thank you Friends of Burgess Park for all your work to do this!
The Covid19 pandemic hopefully showed us the importance of quality open spaces (for physical and psychological benefits), especially in densely-populated urban areas like London. Once they're gone, they are gone forever and London would become greyer forever with each loss of green spaces.
Thank you for your hard work. Greedy developers have been pushing plans around burgess park for too long. The community has spoken time and time again. We do not want over development.
Hope you succeed in stopping these high-rise developments blocking the light out of our park. Thank you for making a stand.
We must do our best to preserve our remaining green spaces, and, where possible, create more.
Great initiative
I wish the council would stop this express train of destruction - there should be a full review of the whole of the NSP & OKRAAP in light of the climate emergency, covid and the many many objections by local residents. Good luck with this. I’m sure it’s the first of many more planning submissions that aim to destroy as much of the park as possible.
Burgess Park is the lungs of inner city Southwark. We must protect it from development.
wholeheartedly support this
Good luck. Let's make the Burgess Park woods live.
Good luck. Let's keep this wonderful woodland alive.
It is important that this land becomes part of the park.
The park has to be protected! A Trafalgar Avenue resident.
We have to start giving natural assets the same standing as buildings. Access to wildlife is just as much a part of our heritage as access to historic buildings.
Keep up the great local work
I am right behind this. It is a tragedy that this very important local free community space should be invaded by those with material motives.
A very worthy cause. Burgess Park is a fantastic place and really under-rated. Understanding the impact of these potential future developments is key. Martin
I really value the community getting behind this and informing ourselves and having a voice... a voice for the green space and wildlife in our beloved Burgess park
Southwark council have declared a climate emergency -protecting and promoting ecology and local wildlife should be prioritised
It's really important to know what impact these proposed buildings are likely to have on local greenspace. The results of this study will be valuable for protecting parks and greenspace across the borough.
Pleased to support this to protect our local woodland areas.
Essential to keep our open green spaces as part of Burgess Park.
