Who are we?
The City of Ely Cricket Club, established in 1856, is a cornerstone of the local community. With five senior teams, a thriving junior section, and one of the best women's cricket setups in the area, we proudly offer a welcoming environment for cricketers of all ages and abilities. Our home ground at The Paradise Centre has supported our growth, and now, as we look to enhance our facilities, we need your help to make that next step a success!
Why are we crowdfunding?
We're crowdfunding to help cover the costs of our exciting move to a new ground. As the club continues to grow, we need to enhance our facilities to better support our junior and senior teams and ensure we offer the best environment for learning, training, and playing. This move will also allow us to host more local and regional matches and events, further connecting with our community. Your donations will directly support this transition, allowing us to keep building on the success we’ve already achieved.
How we’ll spend the money raised
Every penny you contribute will go toward making our move to the new ground as seamless as possible. Here's how we plan to allocate the funds:
Additional equipment (Rollers, mowers etc ) - ca. £4K
Furniture for the club house - ca. - £1.5K
Costs associated with new ground set up and handover - Legal and other costs minimum £3K
Community impact
Our club isn’t just about cricket, it’s about bringing the community together. Our facilities will not only be used for sport but also for local events, educational activities, and social gatherings. By supporting our move to a new ground, you’re helping to strengthen our role as a hub for the local community, ensuring we can offer a wide range of activities for all ages. The new ground will allow us to continue our focus on youth development, inclusivity, and providing a safe, welcoming environment for all.
How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
