i am building an American style waffle house in burnley lancashire. the locality is in a sweet spot. With two major high schools close by. One being on the same street as the buisiness. i have fell lucky with enquiring the property to rent. And i am in good standing with the landlord. who as allowed me to rent the property rent free until the business is up and running. the property has been closed for 10 years now. I dont have any savings or big income to cover the cost of shop fitting and equipment. so what little spare cash i have after making sure i have food on the table for my kids. Is spent on materials to build the fixtures and fittings inside the building.its been very slow and i am eager to get the shop open and up and running. i work 2 days a week as a hgv driver and also in reciept of universal credit. so as you can imagine funds a extreamly low. so taking a little longer progress with. I have built the counter from pallet wood i have scrounged from local buisnesses. so some materials i have got for free. I reckon i could have it up and running in a month if i had £5,000 floating around i dont. So i am hopefully looking at december 2024 to be open. If i had a £1 every time i was asked when its going to be open. I could h of had the business up and running now. its in a perfect contaption area and there are no other businesses or prperties close by. So if i am lucky enough to recieve some funding. i could make the business a reality quicker. And then my daughters have the chance of a futour in this day and age.
