Babies born after March 11 2020 will have only known a world in the grip of a pandemic. They may never have met anyone who isn’t their parent, or they may only ever have seen their grandparents from a distance. They certainly will not have had the same opportunities to interact with other children as those born in the years before.
One thing we know with great certainty is that parental stress and mental health problems pose serious risks to children’s later development, affecting their language and cognitive development, their emotional wellbeing and putting them at risk of depression and anxiety themselves.
Unfortunately, support systems for babies and their families have been profoundly disrupted by the pandemic. As is sadly often the case, it is the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children who depend on these services and support networks the most.
As a hub focused on community, confidence, wellbeing and support.
From working alongside North Middlesex hospital midwives continuing throughout the pandemic, to online yoga classes, well-being walks and the fatherhood project. We have continued to try our upmost best by our community but sadly The financial repercussions of the pandemic have greatly stymied our ability to offer the support our community needs.
We will use your generosity to create better- more stimulating spaces for the children.
We aim to extend our outside covered area to enable us to accommodate children's activities all year round, eg messy play activities to stimulate manual dexterity.
A more comfortable environment for the parents and adults.
Partake in some much needed improvements inside and outside the building. We will continue to build on the fantastic opportunities we have made with our local charities and hospitals.
We have a beautiful and safe outdoor space which we would love to share with our community on various holidays and fun days.
Missed births, postponed birthdays, waves & kisses blown through windows…
Please help us to give our future generations back the confidence that was never able to flourish during lockdown.
Please help us build up the community love and support that many of us crave post isolations.
