On the 16th May 2024 we'd raised £26,938 with 137 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We would love to raise £20000 but £30000 would mean we can move ahead with our projects earlier in the season. One of our key objectives is to install rainwater harvesting to water the pitch and maintain the playing surface. We also want to install Solar panels on the roof of our new clubhouse.
Over stretching ourselves with loans will reduce our ability to sustain ourselves so we are being sensible
We are a small village Cricket Club proud of our success on the pitch but more importantly off the pitch where we have become a critical community hub providing a social "warm space" for many members of the local community.
Cricket wise this was one of the earliest pictures when the side started playing in the local Cotswold league in 2012. Amazingly, 90% of these people are still heavily involved in the club!
As a result of our growing membership and support from the local community we took the plunge to fundraise for a larger and updated Clubhouse that would be able to host social events, provide a venue for indoor sport as well as a place for the community to meet (that is not a pub).
We have raised a magnificent £220,000 and as you can see, from the video attached, we have now erected the Clubhouse structure and installed electric and plumbing however due to the wettest winter on record and rising build costs we still need £60,000 to complete the project.

Any monies raised from now will go towards furnishing the internal area of the Clubhouse. We need to build more internal walls, doors and add floor coverings before decorating and installing kitchens, a Bar, a Social space with TV and Changing rooms for Players, separate Changing rooms for Female players and Umpires.
On the outside we will be installing a Rainwater Harvesting system that will collect all rainwater from the Clubhouse roof and store it in large tanks ready to pump a cross to the Cricket Square for watering
We also plan to install solar panels so we can benefit from the electricity generated plus sell some fuel back to the National Grid
Very exciting to be helping the environment whilst creating such a vibrant community hub

Our new space should really accelerate our ability to host community events. We have already had requests from Play Groups, Book Clubs, Darts team, Aunt Sally teams to utilise the facility as well as hosting Village events such as a Dog Show, Village Fete etc.
As we have always done, we also provide Warm Space for anyone who just needs company and a cup of tea and cake to feel connected to something. Our membership has risen to 160 plus however we have approximately double this amount who regularly visit the club to socialise with friends and get involved. We have an amazing knack for finding people a role at the club which has transformed confidence and energy in young and old

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success! We would love to get the funds as early in the season as possible.
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
