POoR Collective and GPAD have teamed up to launch a crowdfunding campaign for the next Build The Way Internship programme which will run from 2022-2023. This internship is aimed at 18 – 22 year olds, who are passionate about architecture and design. Starting in September 2022, the internship is a 12 month paid programme that will run at three different architecture practices across London.
Both POoR and GPAD believe that there needs to be less costly and more accessible routes into architecture and are focused on providing architectural opportunities for young people at an affordable rate. For this reason, we have developed the Build The Way internship which provides young people with the opportunity to work full-time at an architectural practice, learning what it takes to become an architect and build skills to further them within the industry.
Successful interns will work as part of an enthusiastic team helping to contribute towards exciting architectural projects. Day to day the Build The Way Intern will help produce 2D drawings, 3D computer models as well as writing information on projects. They will have a chance to work as part of an integrated design team, take part in design discussions and work alongside architects who will introduce you to industry thinking.
By donating to Build The Way you will…
- Assist in creating real opportunities for young people
- Be a part of the change in how we explore alternative routes into architecture
- Support the building of the website and additional marketing assets
- Aid the development of a marketing video to promote the Build The Way Internship
- Help to create a guided curriculum for the programme
- Contribute to the continued running and setting up of the programme
- Be invited to engage with the Build The Way network
