'B.U.' is all about standing up for yourself and being proud of who you are,
accepting yourself and others with all our differences, challenges and insecurities and the enriching qualities that diversity of all kinds can bring to our communities. Whilst the key thrust of our festival will be to promote and champion the positive contribution that people with learning difficulties, disabilities and neurodiversity can make to our community, we also want to draw attention to the value of ALL people regardless of their background.
This is our most ambitious project to date but will be a logical, progressive development of things we have staged in the past which have included successful major events in public gallery spaces and theatres.
The project will educate the wider community about people with autism and other disabilities. It will help to forge stronger relationships and understanding between our client group and the local public, many of whom may not be fully aware of the potential of adults with disabilities and what they can achieve. Much of what disabled adults do and produce is too often 'hidden' from the public view inside day centres. The more people who are aware of what adults with disabilities can do, contribute and achieve, the more their cause is likely to be defended and prioritised both societally and politically.
It will be a wonderfully positive and interactive event in what is a popular and highly populous space that is inclusive and accessible to all.
Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their creative work, skills and ideas in this highly public venue, engendering self confidence and self worth and help them reach potential they'd never thought they could achieve previously. It can be a springboard for even greater things in the future.

Based at two excellent venues; York House in Stony Stratford and The Chrysalis Theatre at Camphill, we offer a wide range of creative & social activities to suit everyone's needs and interests.
