Who are we?
Bury St Edmunds RFU is a club with an ever increasing number of women and girls joining our teams. With our ladies playing in the third tier of women’s rugby (Championship 2) and four age grade teams within our youth girls, we are a club that features talented and driven females.
Why are we crowdfunding?
Sunday’s see the busiest day of the week for the club, with our Mini’s, Youth Boys, Colts, Youth Girls and Women having training or matches. To ensure that all sections have appropriate changing facilities, the work to upgrade our currently facilities will ensure that at home games ALL women and girls have access to a professional and safe changing room. Having these ever improving facilities at the club drives the development of our teams and their performance. In doing this, we are ensuring that the same provisions are available to our whole club as part of our #OneClub ethos.
How we’ll spend the money raised
The money raised will be put towards ongoing upgrades of the changing facilities at the club. Spaces for a full 23 match day squad to change have now been included in our changing rooms, along with new showers and vanity areas.
Community impact
By improving our changing facilities, females at the club will have a cleaner, brighter space to prepare for game days. Knowing that you have your own area to get yourself ready for the game ahead will support our players in their mental preparation for each home game. With our new showers, and vanity areas, post match will become an easier process for players to wash away all the mud and dirt from the game. Again, these improved facilities will support our teams in their development on the pitch as there’s less to worry about off the pitch.
