Hello everybody. To say we have had a turbulent week is an understatement. In December, our dog Martha gave birth to 7 beautiful puppies. All was going swimmingly until last week when little Bruce decided it would be a good idea to eat a puppy collar, which then got stuck in his intestines. Bruce had to have emergency surgery to do an abdominal exploration which led to an enterectomy. He came home from this operation not very well., which led me to take him back the following day. This resulted in him having a scan and blood tests which showed that his gut was not functioning and so he had to have more intervention and another overnight stay to kick start his gut. This went well, or so we thought, and he came home much happier, eating, playful and not lethargic this time! He did however have diarrhoea, which led to him having to go back today. He has had to have the same surgery as the first time, as his intestines had gone inside himself. Obviously being the second time in 5 days has meant the surgery was much more risky, but thankfully he has been so strong and has come out fighting. He has a long road ahead of him! So far the vets bills have come to £6500, which we just don't have! Bruce was too young to be insured. If you can spare anything to help us with this fight, we cant tell you how much we would appreciate this. We are sorry to ask.
