Aim: Aiming to create the funds to shoot a debut short film 'Broadcast' this summer. The film is about information warfare.
overview
I wrote the award-shortlisted script 'Broadcast' after watching month after month of news reports about civilian and aid-worker fatalities in Palestine being covered up or excused by the government that was committing them. Doctors, medics, aid-workers, journalists, civilians, families; all being killed and denounced as collateral damage to finding terror cells, even if their ambulances were literally buried in the sand, and hospitals bombed.
The film is dystopian, imagining a young English family in London getting hunted down by state forces whilst the news reports them as murderous terrorists, as they desperately scramble to clear their names. It forces us to question how we would act if it was happening here, now.
The script was shortlisted for the renowned Yarns Film Competition, and already has a great crew of individuals keen to work on the project, along with support from Kodak for shooting on super 16mm.
production
The money will go predominantly towards location, set-design and casting costs, along with a crew flat-fee and post production fees. A full budget breakdown is available on request.
The film is my debut short, where I'll be working as writer/director alongside a brilliant DP and producer.

why this film?
What's happening in Palestine is not the first or only example of government disinformation warfare excusing the deaths of millions of people. It's so important we tell these stories and force ourselves to imagine ourselves in the shoes of those in the centre of conflict.
