We intend to allow the British Dental Action group to grow.
Employ a helper to help with daily posts, marketing, dealing with emails and phone calls. Enable Shazia to concentrate on the numerous meetings which she's currently fitting in around her job and family.
To help the group to grow we need more people and helpers on board.
CROWD FUNDING FOR AN OPINION AS TO HOW ASSOCIATES CAN BRING A CLAIM FOR COVID-19 PAY
BDAG have gone full circle trying to get justice for those Dental professionals whom have lost jobs and received pay cuts despite working through the Pandemic.
We have achieved a lot in the last year from having no voice to getting the NHS to create a compass pay survey which they have promised to investigate. There are still those who couldn't get to register their cases on compass due to the fear of reprisal.
The barrister has helped us and is outraged that tax payer money forked out by the NHS has not reached the intended recipients, especially having been a Dentist she is willing to dig deep with her QC.
For this stage we need funds.
MESSAGE FROM THE BARRISTER
I, and other senior barristers in my Chambers, believe that associates would, in principle, have reasonable prospects of success in a claim brought against a principal dentist in circumstances where the NHS has paid the principal in full, but the principal has not paid the associate appropriately throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. I say this having seen the advice from the NHS, standard BDA associate contracts, the advice provided to date and having spoken with the British Dental Action Group ("BDAG").
I have spent time working on this case and researching Pro Bono (free of charge). However, I’m now at the stage where I need to work collaboratively with a senior barrister in Chambers in order to produce an opinion based on approximately 4-5 potential cases which associates are willing to provide.
The crowd fund for £7,500 is necessary in order to pay for the barristers to:
read through the selected cases;carry out legal research;draft the opinion in writing.
Upon receipt of the opinion, associates should understand the legal basis upon which they can bring a claim against their principal dentist.
We urge everyone to dig deep or pay as little as they can afford even the cost of your coffee can help give many the peace of mind they deserve to decide whether they should take their cases to small claims as this advice will be what helps the judges make their judgment.
This project aims to raise funds to resolve a claim, or other type of dispute. Neither Crowdfunder nor the Project Owner can guarantee the outcome of that dispute, or that it will be resolved at all. Due to the uncertain nature of disputes, it is not possible for the Project Owner to be sure that the amount it raises will be enough to resolve the dispute or to see it through to its conclusion. If the desired outcome of the dispute is achieved in the first instance, it may be subject to appeal and may be overturned.
