We're still collecting donations

On the 25th May 2020 we'd raised £180 with 9 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

 New stretch target

If we raise over the target amount, funds will go towards venue hire once meetings can resume in person, ideally covering all costs making the group compeltely free, and even more accessible for more people.

The Positive Birth movement meetings we hold monthly are such enormously valuable spaces for anyone in our lcoal community to connect with others, gather information and discuss birth in a positive and safe space, explore their options, hear stories, ask questions and seek the support they need to have truly empowered experience of pregnancy, birth and newborn early parenthood.

These meetings are usually held in person, and whilst social distancing is in place, we have moved our meetings online, ensuring that families continue to feel the support of this amazingly well resourced and knowledgebale community.

At the start of 2020, the Posiitve Birth Movement needed to change the way in which the membership worked to ensure the PBM as a whole was a sustainable model, and this meant an increase to the annual membership fee. It is now £145. I am also needing to cover part of the cost of a an upgraded zoom package to create more stable meeting platforms whilst we are meeting remotely. (The total cost of the zoom package will be shared between the PBM and the Bristol Homebirth group that i also facilitate meetings for.)

I volunteer my time to facilitate meetings and to respond to messages, calls and posts on the Bristol PBM facebook page. There is no profit made, and any surplus funds have previously been donated to a local charity supporting vulnerable women in pregnancy and birth. When we return to meeting in person, the annual membership is still applicable, and donations for venue hire can then be collected in person.

I you have accessed this group before and found it to be valuable, if you are part of the group currently and attending meetings, or maybe you are a champion of positive birth in another way and wish to ensure this space exists for families now and in the future- please donate whatever you can, so that i can cover the basic costs to run the group for free- meaning it can be accessible for ALL.
