Who are we?
We are a friendly and supportive space for girls aged 12-17 to learn how to ride mountain bikes and develop new skills, build confidence and social connections, discover new routes and access outdoor spaces on their doorsteps. Our sessions are led by trained local female ride leaders and coaches. You can find out more on our Instagram page and book a space on a future ride here!
Why are we crowdfunding?
1) The legal bits: To be an affiliated Cycling UK cycling group costs £88 a year. This provides our group with the essential insurance and support to deliver our rides. We are aiming to raise £88 by Friday 14th March 2025
2) To keeping the bikes rolling: We are on a mission to make cycling accessible to all, and we are pleased to be able to provide a bike and helmet for any of the girls and young women that comes along to our rides. These bikes are generously looked after by Ben at Lifecycle Brighton. Each year these bikes need replacement parts and maintaining and we'll use the funds raised here to do just that!
3) To keep the network thriving - anything else we raise will be put towards small things like topping up our first aid kits & bigger things like contributing to training for our volunteer leaders.
How you can play your part:
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target,
1. Make a pledge. We are grateful for whatever contribution you can make to keep the wheels spinning at Brighton & Hove Girls MTB network and to support more girls and young women to discover the joys of riding bikes!
2. Spread the word. Share on your social media pages and tell your neighbour/colleague/family/friend about us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer resources. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our young riders or supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. Do you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
A big thank you from our young riders and all of us at Brighton & Hove Girls MTB Network :)
