BRIDGING BARRIERS

We are Bridging Barriers, a social mobility charity established in 2020 and dedicated to empowering young people aged 16-25 from ethnically diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Our vision is a world where young people from all walks of life are fairly represented across industries, equipped with the skills and confidence to thrive professionally.

Our mission is to help ambitious young people from underrepresented backgrounds build employability skills, gain career insights, and develop the self-confidence needed to succeed. Since our inception, we have supported nearly 2,000 young people, with 76% building employability skills, 92% gaining career knowledge, and 95% improving confidence and self-esteem. Through our programs, we’ve provided access to life-changing opportunities, contributing to more inclusive and dynamic workplaces.

Key to our work is our Turning Point program, which combines one-to-one career mentoring, monthly virtual masterclasses, and quarterly networking events. Our mentoring program pairs young people with industry professionals, while our virtual masterclasses feature insights into fields such as law and finance. Our London-based networking events foster valuable connections, allowing participants to meet peers and professionals who can inspire and guide their career journeys.
